HLA
Five compounds have been chosen as possible candidates for the investigation of drug-induced chemical stress, paracetamol (hepatic injury and renal stress), tacrine (hypoxia, topoisomerase inhibition, mitochondrial accumulation and DNA depletion, apoptosis and necrosis), ximelagatran (HLADRB1*0701 association, ALT increase in man), allopurinol and flucloxacillin (delayed cholestatic hepatitis).
We aim to explore the hypothesis that ximelagatran, or its metabolites and other drugs used as comparators have the potential to stimulate in vitro drug-specific immune activation in HLA-genotyped lymphocytes from drug naive healthy volunteers.
